Construction & Decorating

Compare garment construction and review important information for decorating and post-production processes.

Side Seam vs. Tubular

Construction varies by style and can affect decorating placement and shrinkage control.

Print Ready

Garments are intended for common decorating methods including DTG, screen print, heat transfer, and embroidery.

Check Product Specs

Fabric content and product details may vary by style and color.

What is the difference between style 402 and style 501?

Style 402 has side seams, while style 501 has tubular construction. Tubular construction can work well for side prints or full-body designs because there is no side seam. Side seams help provide greater shrinkage control and can support consistent garment placement during direct-to-garment printing.

Can Smart Blanks garments be overdyed?

Smart Blanks does not currently offer PFD garments. The garments are intended for decorating methods such as DTG, screen printing, heat transfer, and embroidery. Overdyeing or other alterations are performed at the customer's discretion, and Smart Blanks cannot accept responsibility for quality issues that occur after those processes.

Collections

Fleece & Coordinating Styles

Learn how the fleece collections differ and which tops and bottoms are designed to coordinate.

What is the difference between the hoodie collections?

The main differences are fabric weight, construction, and blend. Style 101 uses 7.8 oz fleece, the 7000 series uses 9 oz premium fleece, and the 8000 series uses 12 oz heavyweight fleece. Fabric content may vary by color, so the product page should be checked for exact specifications.

Are hoodies and sweatpants sold as sets?

No. Tops and bottoms are sold separately. Exact color matching cannot be guaranteed because garments may come from different dye lots.

  • Styles 101, 102, and 103 coordinate with style 104.
  • Styles 7001, 7002, and 7003 coordinate with premium 9 oz bottoms.
  • Styles 8001, 8003, and 8005 coordinate with style 8004.
